Prickly heat, also known as heat rash happens when sweat gets trapped under the skin. This skin condition happens more often to children than adults because their sweat glands are still developing.
Prickly heat rash has some red and itchy bumps, but sometimes it may appear in the form of small blisters. Anyway, you don’t need to see a doctor to treat this condition. A simple at-home remedy will do the work!
As babies and children are more prone in developing this condition because their sweat glands aren’t fully developed yet, you can apply a non-allergic home remedy to get rid of this harmless itchy heat rash.
I read the other days on Local Moms Facebook page about the oatmeal bath impact over children skin when dealing with eczema and heat rash. Most of the answers were extremely positive saying that giving a nice lukewarm bath to your infant when dealing with a nasty prickly heat rash is the best ointment for his skin.
So, follow the next steps for a “Get Rid Of Prickly Heat Bath”!
You Will Need:
- 1-2 cups oatmeal
- Lukewarm water
What To Do:
Give your infant a nice lukewarm bath for 15-20 minutes or as much as he can stand. As a matter of fact, you can gently scrub the itchy area with oatmeal soaked in water.
After the bath wipe gently the baby’s skin and apply the next remedy over those small blisters:
- an Aloe Vera leaf
Cut the Aloe Vera leaf in half and extract it gel. Apply the gel over the heat rash by massaging gently with your fingers. Let it act overnight or throughout the day.
Apply both remedies daily.
