Throat irritations cause stinging pains and are accompanied by nasal congestion, sneezing, and coughing. They can be treated with chamomile tea, an excellent antibiotic. Prepare an infusion of chamomile from a teaspoon of a dry plant in 250 ml of water. Drink two or three cups of hot tea a day, sweetened with honey or you can make gargle.
Tincture of marigolds
Tincture of marigold can be used to treat tonsillitis. It has anti-inflammatory, antiseptic and anesthetic properties. The tincture is made from two to three marigold flowers per 100 ml of alcohol. Dilute 10-15 drops of tincture in 100 ml of water and use it to make gargle, three times a day.
Cataplasma with potatoes
Recognized for its antibacterial and antiviral properties, a potato is effective when used externally as a cataplasm. Boil 500 grams of potatoes in the shell, then put them in a napkin and crush them. To avoid burns, wrap your neck in a towel and place the potatoes on top. Let them act until they get cold.
If you have high temperature and chills because of tonsillitis, lemon helps you. Mix a spoonful of lemon juice in a quarter liter of water and leave for a few minutes to mix. Soak a napkin, press it gently to remove excess liquid and place it around your neck. Keep compressing for an hour, then spend at least an hour in a warm place.
Boil a teaspoon full of radish seeds along with half a cup of apple vinegar. Add water and honey until the vinegar’s strength becomes bearable and gargle with the resulting mixture. Put 50 grams of solid propolis to macerate in 250 milliliters of refined alcohol for two weeks and shake the glass daily. To soothe a sore throat, drink a teaspoon of this liquid, sweetened with honey in the evenings before bedtime. For an hour, avoid eating or drinking.
