The phlegm is a common symptom of cold and other respiratory diseases. This is a fluid in the body and contains glycoproteins, antibodies and other agents.
The main role of the phlegm is to lubricate the airways and to protect them from external factors that attack them. However, when the body produces too much of it can become troublesome. The reason is that it thickens too much and the body tries to eliminate it through coughing.
The honey and carrot syrup is one of the most effective and healthier choices. In addition to improving cough, it strengthens the immune system, acting at the root of the problem.
– 3 cups of carrots (400 g)
– 5 tablespoons of organic honey (125 g)
Method of preparation:
Wash the carrots well, cut them into small pieces and put them in a saucepan with water.
Let them boil until they soften.
Take the carrots off the fire and mash them with a fork or a spoon.
Put the mash in a bottle of glass and mix it with 5 tablespoons of honey.
Finally, cover the container and leave the product to sit for at least one day before eating it.
How to use:
Take 4 or 5 tablespoons of syrup a day to reduce phlegm production.
As a preventive treatment, you can take a spoon daily, preferably between meals.
If it seems too sweet, you can mix the syrup with half a cup of lukewarm water.
