Ear itches are very annoying, especially because it’s very hard to scratch the ear. The sensation is terrible!
Be careful! If the itch is accompanied by bleeding, acute pain, purulent leakage, or the loss of hearing, it’s recommended to see a doctor.
Instead of using cotton buds, try these very effective home remedies to soothe irritations and itching in your ears:
Warm oil – You can use olive oil, coconut oil or tea tree oil. Heat a small amount (1 teaspoon) at room temperature, then use a pipette to pour a few drops into your ear. Let it act for a minute or two, then tilt your head to one side to allowed it to leak inside the ear.
Aloe Vera – Apply 3-5 drops of aloe vera in ear, let the gel act for a few seconds then tilt your head to one side to eliminate it. The aloe vera gel forms a protective film and restores the optimal pH of the ear. In addition, it has anti-inflammatory and emollient properties, helping to soothe irritation and itching in the ear.
Alcohol and vinegar – Mix rubbing alcohol and white vinegar in equal quantities. Soak a cotton pad in this liquid and drop it lightly into your ear. After 5-10 seconds, tilt the head to one side to remove the alcohol solution then wipe the surplus with the sterile cotton. Don’t exaggerate with the amount!
